08/17/23 07:04:49Possibly detected48.5756-62.2652Possible SW downsweeps in P7 & 10 (classified as HW call type 17; no evidence of humpback whale presence) and P12 (unclassified).
08/17/23 09:49:49Possibly detected48.5677-62.1973Possible SW downsweep (classified as HW call type 17; no evidence of humpback whale presence) in P13.
08/17/23 11:34:49Possibly detected48.5678-62.1973Possible SW downsweep (classified as HW call type 17; no evidence of humpback whale presence) in P16.
08/17/23 12:04:49Possibly detected48.5679-62.1973Possible SW downsweep (classified as HW call type 17; no evidence of humpback whale presence) in P11.

Right whale:

Date/time (local)OccurrenceLatitudeLongitudeNotes
08/17/23 10:49:49Possibly detected48.5678-62.1973Two classified RW upcalls in P5 & 6. The call in P5 has an artifact, so doesn't have the nicest shape, but it is mid-amplitude, well-isolated, and classified; the call in P6 is isolated, but it has a very low amplitude, short duration, and unconvincing shape. Possible BW D calls in P2, 8, & 14; difficult to tell if any of the shorter duration calls have true downward concavity, due to artifacts and/or broken pitch tracks.
08/17/23 22:04:49Possibly detected48.5342-62.1257The classified call in P11 is high amplitude and isolated, but it has a very short duration, which makes it hard to assess its shape. The unclassified call in P12 is mid-amplitude and has an adequate shape, but it also is quite short and is not isolated, as there's a fair bit of mid-frequency noise in that panel. The classified call in P13 has an inconsistent amplitude, several artifacts, and an unconvincing shape. The third classified call in P14 has an inconsistent amplitude, but a fairly nice shape, good duration, and is relatively isolated; there is also a possible mid-amplitude unclassified upcall at the end of the same panel, although it has a pretty short duration. This period is borderline, but ultimately there appears to be one high quality call (P14 classified) and three possible calls with moderate quality (P11 classified, 12 unclassified, & 14 unclassified).
08/17/23 22:19:49Detected48.5342-62.1256The call in P4 is high amplitude, shapely, and classified. The calls in P7 & 9, despite being low amplitude, have fairly decent shapes with no prominent artifacts, are relatively well-isolated, and are classified. The call in P11 has an artifact distorting its shape somewhat, but is otherwise mid-amplitude, isolated, and classified. The classified call in P12 is not great, but there is also an additional possible unclassified upcall in P10. The calls in P4, 7, & 11 are high enough quality calls for this period to be marked as 'detected', especially in the context of other potential classified and unclassified calls.

Blue whale:

Date/time (local)OccurrenceLatitudeLongitudeNotes
08/17/23 10:19:49Possibly detected48.5678-62.1973Possible BW D calls in P4 & 7; the call in P4 has a concave-down portion to its pitch track.
08/17/23 10:34:49Possibly detected48.5678-62.1973Possible BW D calls in P2, 4, 6, & 12. The call in P12 appears to have a nice concave-down portion to its pitch track; the other calls also appear to have downward concavity, but these may be unreliable due to artifacts and/or broken pitch tracks.
08/17/23 11:04:49Possibly detected48.5678-62.1973Possible BW D calls in P3 & 6; difficult to tell if the frequency-modulation is true or the result of artifacts.
08/17/23 15:04:49Possibly detected48.5585-62.1856Possible BW D calls in P10 & 15; the call in P15 is concave-down.
08/17/23 23:19:49Possibly detected48.5343-62.1252Possible BW D calls in 2, 4, & 5; although the call in P4 is classified as SW call type 1, the downward concavity of the call in P2 indicates that these are attributable to blue whale presence instead. One classified RW upcall in P13, although it has a very short duration, low amplitude, and artifact distorting its shape, so it is not convincing of right whale presence; there is another possible upcall in P16 but despite being mid-amplitude, it too has a very short duration, a small artifact, and it is unclassified.

08/17/23 10:04:4948.5678-62.1973Possible BW D call in P16; hard to tell if this is one call or two separate downsweeps, because of the presence of a small artifact.
08/17/23 10:19:4948.5678-62.1973Possible BW D calls in P4 & 7; the call in P4 has a concave-down portion to its pitch track.

08/17/23 11:19:4948.5678-62.1973Possible RW upcall in P15, although it is unclassified (or rather, classified as HW call type 18), has a low amplitude, and a jagged pitch track due to artifacts.
08/17/23 11:34:4948.5678-62.1973Possible SW downsweep (classified as HW call type 17; no evidence of humpback whale presence) in P16.

08/17/23 15:49:4948.5586-62.1860Possible BW D call in P4.
08/17/23 21:19:4948.5341-62.1260One classified RW upcall in P15, however, it has a very low amplitude, an artifact distorting its shape, and a short duration, which makes it difficult to tell whether this is a genuine call.
08/17/23 21:34:4948.5341-62.1259One classified RW upcall in P2, however, it has an extremely short duration, an inconsistent/low amplitude, and an artifact distorting its shape, so it is difficult to tell whether this may be a genuine call.
08/17/23 22:04:4948.5342-62.1257The classified call in P11 is high amplitude and isolated, but it has a very short duration, which makes it hard to assess its shape. 08/17/23 23:04:4948.5342-62.1253Possible BW D call/SW downsweep in P15; there is no discernable concavity to the call. Possible RW upcall in P14; although it is unclassified and has a short duration, it is mid-amplitude, well-isolated, does not have any major artifacts, and has a reasonably good shape.
08/17/23 23:19:4948.5343-62.1252Possible BW D calls in 2, 4, & 5; although the call in P4 is classified as SW call type 1, the downward concavity of the call in P2 indicates that these are attributable to blue whale presence instead.
